Figgie Pudding, or something like it

Here is a link to a beautiful fig cake. Figs are in season and I am reminded what a gorgeous fruit they are. Trader Joes had a large box of figs, so I needed to put all these fruits to use. We had a day of baking fall treats recently and used caramelized figs in an almond cake. We made our own almond paste and cut the flour with almond meal. Two sticks of butter and six eggs later, we had a delicious marzipan-ish cake that the figs coupled perfectly.
